We're happy to announce the arrival of Madison Ashlee Jeremiah. 4 lbs 2 oz. Born at 6:20 tonight. Madison and and Dina are both doing fine... actually, better than fine.
Labor was fast... really fast.
At 5:45, I was getting ready to leave to get some dinner and chose to wait a bit to watch the end of the news and to help Dina go to the bathroom.... While on the toilet, she was grunting and strianing and asked me to get the nurse to see if she could help her with an enema....
The nurse came in and was going to call the doctor to ask about the enima when it became clear that Dina was in active labor.... ... and then the contractions came fast. Right around 6pm, we moved back to the bed and a small army of nurses and Dr.s swarmed in. The room was quickly transformed into a delivery room and by 6:20, we were the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl.
Madison was pink and healthy at birth and is now in the neo-natal ICU where they are monitoring her vital signs and keeping close tabs on her health. We expect her to stay here for the next few weeks while she continues to put on weight and feed normally. Dina will probably be here until sometime on Friday.
